Where do I find specific measurements of water hardness for Dublin (not just that it's rated "soft")? It's to set a new dishwasher.

You need all that to simply give me water hardness measurements for Dublin. Shouldn't that all be public?!

    Hi jaroslavd,

In order to determine the information you require we would need a more specific location, preferably your home address.

For data protection reasons, we would advise that you send this information via PM.

Once we receive this information, we willl be happy to advise.

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Hi jaroslavd,

I've followed up with the relevant department to get some clarity on your query.

They have determined that accessing the level of hardness in your water would be a private matter.

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

Water hardness would normally be recorded by the townland or District Metering Area and not by the address.

To suggest that  "a more specific location, preferably your home address." seems misinformed.

In any other civilized country in the world, including 3 I've lived in, you can simply log on to the website of your local water authority, or ring them up, and get an exact measurement, in dH, for example for your address, not some vague woolly statement like "mostly soft" or "on the hard side".

How on earth is it a "data protection" issue? How can knowing someone else's water hardness measurement constitute a breach of their privacy? Absolutely laughable.
