Well done to Dublin City Council for winning the right to host Velocity 2019. Should be a really interesting conference and will hopefully help in increasing funding for projects in advance.

Maybe invite him back to reflect developments since then?

Dublin City has won a bid to host Velo-City 2019, a major international conference which seeks to encourage cycling for daily transport and recreation.

But earlier in the year:

National Transport Authority officials have asked Dublin City Council to suspend work on three major cycle route projects because of a lack of funding.

At last Monday’s monthly council meeting, Owen Keegan, the manager or CEO of Dublin City Council, had claimed that a “shock and surprise” central government walking and cycling funding cut was to blame for a number of cycling projects being postponed. The claim that central government are to blame for a delay to cycling projects was refuted by the Department of Transport.
