Any thoughts on a Vauxhall Ampera importing one from UK I know servicing could be an issue but the ICE servicing should be as normal and Anything else well at the value they are it might be worth risking it

The Electron Spec seems very good

    Thanks

As far as I'm aware you can't buy the equivalent Open version in Ireland, therefore its probably safe to assume mechanics in the Opel garages are not trained up on the EV and probably could service/repair for you. Would be a tough sell second hand also I would imagine.
If I were you I'l look at the Nissan or Hundai EVs

Saw an Irish reg one on the M11 near Greystones last night, great looking car in the flesh IMO.

Was in ths US for the summer. Very popular there, as was the Leaf, even though petrol was only €0.52 a litre! But then again our apt block car park had a free CP at every space.

I looked into it before and asked Irish Opel dealers, they said they could not service them so you'd have to go up north.

I was strongly considering one but might be a nightmare to resell also due to above.

Yes I think resale would be a no no but at the value they are now and keep it for a few years then scrap it

I spoke with the owner of an Irish registered one, he bought it used from a Dublin dealer who had imported it and services it there also. Said he paid 25k 2-3 years ago IIRC.
Used values have gone up a bit in the UK as for the Leaf.
Belfast not too far away if anything specialist is required.
