Hi Getting this fault code on my 08 mondeo 2.0tdci.
No power loss when driving, but the cruise control seems to intermittently turn itself off.

The code references - Turbo/Super Charger Boost Control Solenoid Circuit Low

    Anyone had this?

The electric turbo actuator is failing. It's mounted at the back of the engine onto the turbo.

    Looks like this:

Plug it out and plug it back in again and see if it makes a difference. It's pretty common for them to break connections inside them and they need to be resoldered to fix it!

    Cheers!
I cleared the code last night and hasn't come up today...but probably will later.
I get that humming for a minute after the engine is shut off...isnt that related??

Steering wheel cruise control switches give a bit of bother on those mondeos thats likely the cause of your problem.
If its not throwing up an engine malfunction message or engine managment light i wouldnt be too bothered about that fault.

    Pox...light is on again today
Time to pull out the actuator to see what's going on
Something I noticed this morning...as soon as I hit an incline on the motorway the cruise control would knock off...wonder if it's over boosting and killing the cruise control as a failsafe....odd though as I can drive all day without cruise control no problems.

Do you get the engine malfunction at the same time as CC is knocked off?

You can take out the actuator by removing a little circlip and pulling the arm off the actuator. The actuator itself is held by 3 10mm bolts if I remember correctly.

Pop the 6 or so clip holding the actuator closed together with a flat head and you can open up the casing. It's a pretty solid assembly so have no fear of bits falling out. You should be able to see wire connections going from the pins to the circuit board. Generally these come off and under vibration they may not make contact with the pins on the connector.

You would have to solder these connections up if you can see a small gap or a break. An electrician would do this fairly cheap if you bring it up or you can tackle it yourself with a soldering iron.

Also not a bad idea to put a drop of grease (paste grease not liquid) onto the plastic gears to make it easier for them to work :P
