    Hi guys,

Having difficulty opening what I believe to be the drain valve on the lowest radiator in the house.

Can anyone tell me how to open this?

I've stopped tank in the attic filling, turned off the boiler etc... just can't get water to flow out!

That's not a drain valve, some cowboy used this valve as an elbow or a flow restrictor.

Oh dear. Not surprising in this place.

    This will get messy.

I have learned a lot about my heating system today! All of the downstairs rads are on independent loops so I can't drain the whole system from one point. Think I figured it out though with the help of YouTube. Should be grand.

    Lovely....
On a side note I usually drain my system by connecting the garden hose to a rad valve.
