    Manchester-United-vs-West-Ham-Preview-Prediction-30th-November-2016-English-League-Cup.jpg

With more shots taken than a Stag Weekend at happy hour,United may start finding the net. After a disappointing draw on Sunday, they once more face West Ham with the chance to correct their profligacy in front of goal.

Manchester United and West Ham will both be without key players for tonight's EFL Cup clash.

Jose Mourinho's United will be without suspended midfielders Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini.

The pair both picked up their fifth bookings of the season in Sunday's 1-1 draw against the Hammers with Pogba's yellow leading to Mourinho being sent to the stands.

Michael Carrick's fitness remains unclear after he missed the weekend's game, meaning there could be a surprise return for Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial could come back into contention but defenders Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling are out.

West Ham will be without Diafra Sakho.

The striker scored the opening goal in at the weekend but then suffered a hamstring injury and is ruled out.

Andy Carroll is close to returning from a knee problem but will probably be saved for Saturday's visit of Arsenal.

Winston Reid is available again after suspension.

Manchester United provisional squad: De Gea, Romero, Blind, Jones, Darmian, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo, Shaw, Valencia, Carrick, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Lingard, Mata, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Young, Depay, Martial, Rashford, Rooney, Ibrahimovic.

West Ham provisional squad: Adrian, Randolph, Collins, Ogbonna, Reid, Cresswell, Kouyate, Noble, Obiang, Fernandes, Nordtveit, Payet, Lanzini, Antonio, Feghouli, Ayew, Sakho, Zaza, Fletcher.

I was watching the Liverpool/Leeds game with commentary on Bet365 last night. It could be the same tonight.

Hopefully Martial has a decent game, hasn't looked arsed this season at all. Can see him being shipped out in the summer if he doesn't start producing.

I get the feeling that this could be an important game for Rooney. I reckon a good performance this evening could seal his return to the first team for league/important games. His good recent form coupled with Utd''s average results without him in the team suggests to me that he's close.

Strange how mourinho is going about his business, you'd think after way he left chelsea he'd keep the head down and work away but instead he seems hell bent on being abrasive.

I want him stay hence I said I hope he has a good game. I'm not questioning his ability, it's his work rate and effort that has left a lot to be desired. Jose doesn't seem to fancy him either.

    Get in there

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

It's alarming how much they have regressed since last year.
