I was on casual JSA for 4 years up until this September. I then went onto JSA for a few weeks but got a job in October and fully signed off. The job didn't work out unfortunately and I had to make a new claim for JSA. I got my first payment today and the Christmas Bonus was included. This claim is only open 3 weeks so I don't think I'm actually entitled to it. Can anyone clarify if I am or not? I tried ringing the office today to check with them but could get no one to answer the phone!

Perhaps, if your employment lasted under the 12 weeks, they looked upon it as allowed short term employment. Check if you wish but I don't think the onus is on you to do so.

If the claim links to your previous jobseekers claim then you would be entitled to it as you would have the 390days.

Thanks guys. I rang citizens advice and they said that since I was only signed off for a few weeks the new claim does link to the old claim and I am entitled to it :)

Hi there was your Christmas bonus for the week of November 23rd to the 29th? I worked part time for 4 weeks around that time and Social Welfare having taken money off me.

    Thanks
