Got a call from a dealer telling me that if i wanted to purchase a current model octavia with personal specifications I'd need to order by tomorrow as the only ones available will be those on current order. Next new orders will be for the updated octavia and no guarantee of 0% finance.
Just wondering if anyone else had any info on this as the dealer couldn't tell me when the new orders were possible

Tomorrow is the last day of this month, maybe he needs a sale to meet his target for the month and is trying to pressure you into buying.

I did think it was a bit suspect so I was hoping someone here might know a bit more about it. Anyone heard of anything like this happening before?

There is a facelift model due but there is no guarantee that the current 0% PCP finance deal will carry over too.

They have made a right pigs ass of the front imo:

Saw something on briskoda about the some models being unavailable to order now that the facelift is coming. The actual final day for ordering might be tomorrow or it might not but it cant be all that far away.

Looks even worse when they're not press shots.

Never the best looking car before the facelift.

I heard that no new orders would be taken in December (I'm not buying but was talking to a dealer) so I'd say he isn't messing with you. Im sure as well as getting the horrid facelift the price will be going up a couple of percent. They dont seem to give 0% on any new models

Thanks for all the responses, old be ordering tomorrow so. I prefer the current model and do want to avail of the 0% pcp

Think you may be OK for orders until Friday this week, but could be tomorrow - wasn't really listening to my Skoda dealer when he was telling me yesterday as I've no one looming to order an Octavia, but its definitely this week sometime.

What differences will the new facelift model have with the current model?

The lip/detail on the boot always makes it look like its been left open.

Oh man, they've made a pigs ear of it.

Skoda must be the ugliest car maker going. Not sure I've ever seen one I like the look of. All subjective I suppose but meh.

Any idea when the facelift VRS will launch here?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,076 ✭✭✭GustavoFring

Realistically they will be 172s. Won't see standard models until March way and it's a few months after that.

They can be built on the Czech configurator at the moment.

Well, yea, Thats The Plan !

If your not gonna buy an Audi then go buy a VW

Whatever happened the Skoda Rapid ? ( or was it Rapide ? )

VAG managed to kill Skoda in that market segment with remarkable ease

Did significant units of it sell anywhere in Europe ?

The Rapid was always aimed at the budget market where Skoda used to sit. The Rapid is based on a saloon version of the Polo sold in certain countries. Same goes with the current Seat Toledo. No frills motoring.

    Rapid and Toledo still available.

Skoda shifted 157 in January, SEAT did 26.

86 of the 157 rapids were saloons.

Facelift is just that, nothing much else will change as the tech and interiors have been constantly improved over the last 3 years. I'd say it's likely that the new model will come with 3.9 interest on PCP instead of an actual price hike.

Infotainment system technology is updated alright, same to what the Golf is getting with it's facelift.

Went into Skoda garage yesterday but specced up a superb sportline which I plan to order, depend on trade in value etc...

What % discount off list price should I expect to push for on a new car in the 45-50k range? I know all makes are different as are all dealers. I plan to get a price from 3-4 places but I wonder what wiggle room they have?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,363 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

If you're trading in then the discount off the Superb will be applied to your trade-in's value off the retail price of the Superb. You will need to compare prices between dealers as some may offer slightly less or more for your trade-in.

Good to know thanks, this would work better for me as I plan to PCP this and would prefer to 'cash out' more money from the trade in.
