    Hi

I thinking of moving to Bellurgan Co.Louth and at the moment there is no fibre broadband and was speaking to eircom and they said there is broadband available however with only speeds of up to 2Mb.

I am useless when it comes to speeds etc.. Is this any good?  I would want a smart tv and just wondering is it too slow in order for tv to work?
Is there any other way of getting a good connection from other providers?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

    Nope, pretty crap.

when I click on the area it says FTTH Phase Q4 2015/Q12017,   Does that mean Fiber broadband is being rolled out in that area? There are no other providers from using that link I can see in the area

the FTTH dates on that are out of date. If your area is on a blue line from Carlingford you may have FTTH early 2017. Eir are not enabling all of the lines at once, so your road may or may not be part of the first live dates.

thank you for you response, do you think fiber broadband will be in that area in the next year from looking at them maps?  I know they have said that they are coming but is that one of them things they say and they never normally get round to doing it for years and years?

402730.pngI have attached a picture below my house is on the blue line there is no broadband but around 3km from my house there is a green dot that says "Fibre Build commenced - completion work is in progress" does this mean that I will be getting fiber broadband soon in the area?  I have circled in black the green spot and also the X where my house is.

if anyone can give me any advice that would be great

The green dot FTTC related as for your house it on the blue line so you should get FTTH at some stage.
