Turas Nua asking for first wage slip

Hi, just looking for some advice. I've been with Turas Nua for 4 months and am starting a full time job next week and will be signing off. I don't have any complaints about them, my advisor is very nice and she did help me to put together a much better CV than the one I had. The weekly meetings were the same every week and I took a couple of their workshops which were OK but not really helpful.

My only issue is that she has asked me to forward on a copy of my first payslip. I thought that any obligation to deal with them would end when I signed off so I don't know why they need this. I've asked her but she is dodging the question by just saying it's for their records.

I don't know what they can do to me if I don't send it in but I'm worried that it may cause problems with the tax office or something.

I got the job myself through a friend who recommended my on an employee referral scheme. Has anyone else been asked to do this? It probably sounds silly but it's my personal information and I don't want a private company having it. I rang the DSP to see if I could just send it to them and bypass Turas Nua but they told me they would never need that information unless I was claiming another payment from them. I'm a single person with no dependents so wont be claiming anything else.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If she isn't giving a valid reason and it was me I would just refuse stating Data Protection as the reason.

I got a job through Turas Nua and I wasn't asked for it. If they had of asked I would have refused. It's none of there business.

OP - I've asked around and I think they want to verify where you are working.

FWICS they need that info to close your file. They don't need info on wages/salary etc.

    congrats on the job!

There was a similar thread on here not long ago, but I can't find it. As far as I recall, Turas Nua get paid in instalments for any of their clients who get a full time job and who keep the job for (I think) 12 months. Your advisor probably wants to find out where you are working and/or needs proof of your continued employment so that they (Turas Nua) can get paid from the State. Did you sign a contract with them at the beginning? If so, it probably states something along those lines. Simply getting a job allows you to sign off the dole, but Turas Nua want to keep tabs on you for 12 months to make sure they get paid. It's more about keeping your file open than closing it! It's purely for their financial benefit, not yours.

Personally, if I found a job myself, I would just sign off the dole and ignore Turas Nua; but that's just me. You'll have to make your own decision. If I remember the other thread, the Turas Nua advisor kept pestering the OP who got their own job, as you did. In the end I think the OP even had to block their phone calls!
