Buying electric shower in NI

I am heading up North on Monday and thinking of buying a Triton shower in Argos while I'm there.

Does anyone know if Triton in Dublin will cover the guarantee if it is bought in NI?

Also, the showers have different names to here, has anyone heard of the Triton Opal 3 9.5kw electric shower, and if so have you any opinion on it?

    Thanks.

Triton won't honor a UK warranty in Ireland.
Decide what type of shower you need before you go. All the cheap showers will be mains fed. Will this suit your setup? Or will you need a Pumped electric shower (tank fed).
Once you have this straight in your head it'll be harder to make a mistake.

Also be aware that UK showers tend to use imperial fitting sizes, like 1/2" etc.

Irish supplied showers tend to use metric sizes for plumbing.

Not really a problem, but you may need different fittings when installing.

You need an electrician to wire it in tho

It is replacing a T90SI which only lasted 5 years, I presume that is mains fed? I'm hoping the wiring already there should be ok if I get something similar.

Not sure if it's worth the risk then if they won't honour the guarantee. So much cheaper though, only £100!

Triton t90si was made between 2000 and 2007. That puts your shower at 9 to 16 years old or someone fitted a 2nd hand shower 5 years ago.

These are mains fed showers & won't work with your setup.
You should be looking for a triton t90sr silent shower. You'll pay around 260 euro for it though

Maybe I have the wrong name for it then, lasted 5 years, died about 2 years ago and hasn't been replaced since.

Thanks very much for all the info, looks like I'll have to wait another while then until I can afford the €260.
