remote heating controls

    Hi all,
    I know there are plenty of smart home heating solutions out there such as nest and climote etc. Can anyone tell me if there is a unit I can buy and install myself that I can address directly using an app that doesnt require a subscription to a third party. Simply an app that can address the IP of the boiler control unit direcly to do simple things like turn heating/water on and off.

    Basically I dont want to get into a proprietary subscription based solution such as climote.

    Any info appreciated.

    I have just ordered the nest from electric Ireland for 99 if I sign up to a contract. Nest has no subscription service for the heating. They have a subscription for the nest cam only and its optional

    Asfaik clunote are the only ones who need a subscription
