Hi, I have a Sole F80 treadmill which i bought when living in the US. I purchased a converter for the voltage difference but it still blew something on the circuit board or even the motor. Looking for a treadmill repair specialist in Dublin. Thanks.

Are you sure the treadmill broke and not the convertor? if you bought a lower power convertor then its likely it blew rather than the treadmill.

Do you know the treadmill power requirement and what the convertor is rated to?

Convertor works for other items i had in the US, so don't think its that.
Treadmill power requirements are 1500w and convertor is rated to 2000. This is what i'm afraid of, that the i prob needed a converter of something like 3000w. What is the likely damage of my treadmill by a lower power converter. $$.
    Thank you,
    Dave

If it is able to output 110V and 2000W I would have thought the rating is high enough, but there can be start up surges, but sounds like the converter is fine. But there could be an issue with the Hz rating (the frequency). we are 50Hz and US is 60Hz, so it might not be good enough to drop to 110V. Some convertors might do the Hz.

I do know the Hz can be more of an issue with motors too, while say a 1.5kW heater might be fine. I was reading about people trying to use high power US blenders here.
