    Just learning about this compliments of Gail on Seattle CG.
    Just over a year and a half on my Gaggia Classic and I learn about this. Steaming my milk (for the missus :)) and then dropping the tank temp back down to brew temp.
    It's no wonder I've had some fcuk ups over the past months :).
    No worries, it's all good.

    Yeah, temp surfing is a pretty standard thing I do on the Rancilio Silvia - steam the milk, run hot water, let it heat up and wait 30 secs - usually a perfect coffee this way!

    Gail is such a hoot!
