Pure Pharmacy state they have cheaper prescriptions than competitors.
They have 4 stores in Dublin, 1 Drogheda, 1 Galway
But most importantly, they have a list of prices online.

nice one, pity they don't ship the products once you supply them with a prescriptions. Their price comparisons are impressive, less than half the price for my inhalers than the local robbing pharmacy. Pity they aren't in Cork...yet!

Do you need to pay subscription fee or anything? OR you just pay the price as shown on their price checker because they appear to be very cheap indeed.
I paid almost 9 euros for my last prescription, and when checked it on their price checker it showed as 1.05!

+1 my prescriptions work out cheaper than getting them on the medical card

    2 questions:

    1. what inhalers are you on?
    and
    2. Where is your local pharmacy? :D

Is the price checker working? I'm putting in generic names but getting no response.

Cheaper for me on generics, same price on branded inhalers.
You need to type at least 3 characters, then wait a second, and you should see a list of matching results in the dropdown.
Then enter a quantity, even if it is for a monthly tablet pack so 30 tablets.

Thanks for the guidance - I was a bit impatient obviously, and my mispelling didn't help.

Have you tried Healthwave in Dundrum? They will deliver by courier four times a year at no extra cost.

They do not charge joining fee of any type. They are significantly cheaper than normal chemists and in terms of Health Wave as a comparison, it depends on what your buying. I needed 2 Epi pens for allergies, Health Wave 90, Hilltop Pharmacy Raheny and Pure were 59 for better one than I ever got in other chemists. HSE should refuse to pay above the costs of these competitive chemists, boy would they save a fortune!!

It's working out over €30 dearer for my medication

For the generic equivalent it's about €6 cheaper.

But surely you'd want the generic version anyway?

Well initially I didn't know there was a generic version available, I just put in what I use and saw it was over €30 dearer so I emailed them and they replied with the generic price.

The point I was making though is it's not cheaper for what I was looking for quiet the opposite, and to be honest as the generic is only €6 cheaper not much of a saving on a six month prescription.
