Unoccupied House insurance - No weekly check

    Hi all

Trying to get unoccupied house insurance as its a condition of our mortgage.
All quotes we get have one of the stipulations as the house is checked once a week internally and externally. We cannot arrange this for various reasons.

The house is unoccupied full time and cannot be checked weekly. We have a tracker mortgage so dont want to give the bank any excuse to withdraw the tracker etc
Are there any solutions anyone else has come up with.

We dont really need contents as nothing much there so its just to cover the main house nothing to steal etc

    Many thanks for any suggestions

Maybe you could get a neighbour or friend to have it checked once a week.
I don't believe insurance policy would stipulate checks need to be made by you personally.

Allianz have a policy that requires you to check the property every 30 days. During the winter months (if the house remains unoccupied) you must agree to turn off the water supply and leave to the attic door open.

Allianz don't write unoccupied houses as new business.
