Hi, I am a newbie at this so sorry for sounding like an eejit. When I book a hotel with expedia, do I have to contact the hotel or does Expedia deal with the reservation and everything? I know some travel sites only give you the deal and it is up to you to book the hotel yourself. Thanks.

Expedia do the booking on behalf of the hotel, like a broker. So you just book with them.
