Joining two roofs over small extension?

I have a small roof over the kitchen out the back sloping away from the house and there is a garage room on the side of the house with a roof sloping away to the side of the house.

I'm having a small 3x3m extension built that will join these two roofs up, I was looking at putting a hip roof in.

The issue I've found that there is a difference of nearly 4 inches in the top of the roofs where they meet the house.

Just wondering if anyone has come across this before and if there are any suggestions on what can be done, will it cause issues for drainage etc.

    Any help greatly appreciated.
