    Hey guys
So a bit out of the loop, I remember back in the day a fuss over loud exhausts being made. Right now there is a group of lads in ****e Corollas revving outside the house at all hours and Ive reported them. Is there a law against noise pollution? Like I could kinda understand the noise coming from a Impreza or something but these lads are just revving like idiots.

Yes there is a noise limit the Guardai can test for.

Its extremely high though to be fair, you'd be hard pushed to get over it

Really? Remember back in the day the guys with holes in the exhaust, thats what this sounds like. Would that be over the decibel levels

Its 98 or 99 db at 3 feet and 45 degrees iirc, which is deafeningly loud almost for a daily driver

The decibel scale is not linear so can be a bit hard to grasp but for example, a jackhammer or a train passing is quieter than what is allowed by law for an exhaust....

But do noise pollution laws not change at night?

I don't think Ireland has such a thing as noise pollution, thats an Americanism

Their pipes may be fine but revving for the sake of it in a housing estate at night is anti social behaviour. Call the Garda as it happened and they may move them along.

Also, you should refrain from calling their cars ****. There were some very fast versions of the Corolla. Just makes you seem like you haven't a clue what you're talking about. ;)

It was actually Australia that I encountered it, had to stop using a rock-breaker at 6pm in a residential area, presumed Ireland had something similar

Thats the thing, I know they are **** cause the brother in law has one of those very fast Corollas. Theres other **** cars in the group hence the give away, Boras, Golfs etc. These lads are 19/20 just pricks basically.
I did report them and will report them everytime they do it, which I dont like doing but well its there own fault
