Nursing dcu vs midwifery Nuig

Had my heart set on midwifery in Galway for a long time but after going to the dcu open day I fell in love with the college. Only problem is dcu don't offer midwifery which means doing general nursing in dcu and having to do nursing for a year before applying for a 18 month postgraduate course in midwifery. Haven't been to Nuig open day so maybe there college is just as good as dcu. Is it worth doing General nursin first :/ And anybody who was at the Nuig open day or done midwifery there what is it like?
