I changed jobs two months ago and my last employer has still not shared my P45 with me. My new employer made me fill in another form and ensured I don't have to pay emergency tax. To be honest, my last employer is very unorganized and it's not the first time I have issues with their payroll/HR so I am not necessarily keen to go back to them to follow up (I had asked them twice about my P45 thinking I will else end up on emergency tax). Do I still need to follow up to get it and am I good now? Will I need it at the end of the financial year on the PAYE Anytime portal? It's my first time changing jobs so I don't know.

If it doesn't impact on your emergency tax, for the moment you're probably okay. If you don't trust your last employer was doing things correctly, you might want to request a P21 from revenue at the start of next year. That was you'll see if that employer was paying/submitting the correct contributions so you know your tax cons are all in order

be sure to keep your last payslip from old employer so you will have a record of the figures at the end of the year for the P21. You really should get the P45 and employers are obliged to give it to you - you never know when you might need it for bank/social welfare/etc.
