College in America with US citizenship

    After my leaving cert I hope to attend college in the USA. I was wondering how I apply to a college. I've done a lot of research but cant figure out to apply. It gets very confusing because I have US citizenship and a parent who I will live with in the US. Because of my citizenship Im not considered an international student but then i don't know how to apply otherwise.
    anyone been through this before that could give my guidance?
