    Howdy,

Can anyone recommend a good TEFL course in Dublin, preferably one starting soon?

It will be used to teach English in Dublin so not sure whether CELT or CELTA is advisable?

    Thanks for your help!

Hi, I did my course at The English Academy in Dublin, it was a good experience (my tutors were great, but there might be different ones there now, I'm not sure). It was a CELTA course. Both CELT and CELTA are recognized in Ireland, but CELTA is more well known overseas, by far.
Re teaching in Dublin, the pay is pretty poor (15-20 quid/hr, no pay for prep, admin, typical contract is 20-25 teaching hrs/wk), but bc the hours are short (most teachers are finished by 2/3 pm), there's enough time for a second job, which isn't unusual for TEFL teachers (and necessary if you want to have savings, foreign holidays, etc.).

Thanks for your reply. I'm actually asking on behalf of someone else. So if they went with CELT (it's considerably cheaper) it wouldn't hamper their job prospects in Ireland? Do you know if there are many jobs available?

15-20 hours per week would be perfect.

Hi, from what I understand, CELT is widely recognize in Ireland.
Jobs are fairly scarce this time ofyear, but come spring, it'll pick up, and summer - loads of work.

Have you heard any good things about any CELT courses in Dublin? People only seem to be recommending CELTA ones but looks like it would be a waste of money if staying in Ireland.

Sorry, I don't know anything about CELT. You might find a Facebook group connected to it?
