The Walking Dead Season 6 DVD - No Spoilers Please

    I've bought the DVD boxset for Season 6 of the Walking Dead and the picture quality in the first 2 episodes is absolutely atrocious it's extremely grainy and this DVD is a replacement for the first one I bought which had a small scratch on it and assumed that might have been the issue but it looks like the DVD picture quality in general is poor.

    I'm watching it on a 50 inch (I think) HDTV and all my other dvds look perfect on it but this boxset looks terrible so far.

    Has anyone else experienced this issue? I'm just curious.

    I'd appreciate it if people could just mention the picture quality and avoid and mention of anything to do with the show as I don't want anything spoiled.Perhaps just thank the post if you have had similar issues.I haven't put this in the specific forum for the show because of the chance for spoilers.

    I don't buy the DVDs, but I know the show is made to look "grainy" on purpose.

    Its an intentional creative decision that they have used throughout the entire series.

    The Walking Dead is shot on a 16mm film, instead of a 32mm one, which adds a grainy look immediately.

    The first 2 episodes of last season, especially the first, of last season focused on this a lot more. Perhaps they really exacerbate this for the dvd/blu ray releases.

    Hello I have the same experience with the Season 6 DVD boxset. It is almost unwatchable using my Blu Ray player and Samsung 55 inch 4K Smart TV.  I don't think it has anything to do with how it was filmed as I can watch it using an old run of the mill TV/DVD combi player in my bedroom and it is much more clear.
    Could it be to do with the TV settings?
