When should I receive a copy of our contract?

I am hoping some one can help.... My partner and I went sale agreed on a house in Dublin Mid-August this year.

We signed our contracts in September, at this stage we had handed over our initial booking deposit of 5k and the balance deposit of 8%

The house is in probate and we are still waiting for the grant of probate to be issued.

I have requested a copy of our contract on two occasion and the secretary gave me some c*ck and bull story about being very busy and on her own and when she gets a chance she will pull my file and post me a copy . That was three weeks ago now.

Should we have received a signed copy of our contract from the solicitor at this stage?

Should we have even given our deposit if the grant of probate hadn t been issued?!

We are getting nowhere with either our solicitor or the estate agent

I m sure the frustration we are feeling is the norm for most first time buyers but I am almost at the end of my tether.
