Is it possible to delay drawing-down a mortgage until you have served the notice period on your rented accommodation to avoid paying both mortgage and rent during the period? (Notice period can be 3-4 months in some cases)

Anybody have experience of this? Did you find a solution or did you just have to suck it up?

Ask your bank for a "moratorium" period, we got three months while last minute issues were resolved on our transactions
