I am filling in this form for the registration of a car I purchased in the UK. Section 3 of the form is confusing me. the section is called "Person / Business Who Purchased The Vehicle Outside The State If Not The Proposed Registered Owner Of The Vehicle"

I will be presenting the car on behalf of my mother and it will be registered in her name.

What name do I insert? and If I insert my name, there is no place for her name to go!

What is the difference between an authorised person and non authorised person?

Whose name is on the invoice?

Hi Walus. My mothers. I brought a declaration letter from her with me to Uk that allowed invoice to be in her name.

You put her name in on that form.
However since it will be you vrt-ing the car for her she needs to write a letter to NCT Centre stating that she gave you the permission to do this VRT thing for her for such and such car.

Hi Walus, I am confused though, because it says "if not the propsed registered owner of vehicle " ...she will be the registered owner

If you bought the car and if you are registering it in your name leave this section blank.

It only needs to be filled in if the name on the sales invoice is different to the person who will be the registered owner of the new car.

I had to phone them to get clarification on this. That field is for the name and address of the new owner, never mind who bought it. Very misleading on the form.

All very contradicting.. its so hard to know whats right! I was chatting to a fella that registered one last year and he said as far as he recalls he left it blank

Just fill up the form like your mother would if she was registering it herself.
What you need to bring is a letter from her authorizing you to register the car in her name. Also bring your own ID and you may need something with your pps number on it.
