Does anyone have any plans for the Super moon?
Any tips, pics, interesting stories etc?
    Or will clouds ruin it?

Solid cloud here but I got this on saturday...

    https://www.facebook.com/johnmorganimages/photos/a.1582969982011321.1073741827.1582954945346158/1599867490321570/?type=3&theater

That link should be public. I dont have it on another site to embed it right now.

I just stuck it on the tripod and focused in live view...

    1/1000s, f/6.3, iso 640

Camera was the 5d mark IV and the lens is the new version of the Tamron 150-600 (hence the f/6.3)

Im gonna try to get it with the Nikon p900 superzoom.

Hopefully it clears for a bit at some stage.

It's probably not going to offer any better pictures, the difference in size has been vastly over emphasised. Keeping an eye out for clear nights would probably lead to a much better picture season.

Had a bunch of stuff to do today and got it all finished early.
Then a heavy fog rolled in. God level trolling.

The moon itself did not look much different. It was just so bright. I think the photo oppotunities would be more moonlit landscapes than the moon itself.

Got a few, many rubbish pics in there, totally unedited straight from the camera to here but a few good too, nice video as well.

yep, the best opportunities would be when it's close to the horizon i guess.
photos of the moon with nothing else in the frame are just, well, photos of the moon.

I did find it hard to focus.
And changing camera settings in the dark is not easy...:)

Looks like an ordinary moon, but it was the brightness that was most impressive .. even felt a little too strong looking at it through my binocs!

of course photos don't really show this
