Heating system - at my wits end

Folks, Im at my wits end with my heating system. I'll try and explain it best I can. We have had issue with our heating since we moved in 5 years ago. Without going through every bit, here is the latest issue.

So, our Stanley Reginald stove wasnt heating any rads. Plumber looked at it, said the stat on the pipe coming from the stove (in hot press) wasnt on correctly, so was never letting heat to rads. So, he fitted stat properly (set it to 60 deg) and indeed, heat is now going to the rads.

Now, we have 3 zones on our controller(up, down, and hot water). For the last 3 years, they have worked as they should. Had some ongoing problems in first 2 years.

Now, since that change to the stove stat, zone 2 (which works for upstairs rads) when on, is no longer triggering heat to come on. The room stat for this is also in the hotpress, but even turning it up and down, I can see the light on the motorised valve turn on/off. This points that the room stat is working.

I can get heat in the upstairs zone by leaving on the hot water and turning the stove stat down...uggh!

Plumber says I need an electrician, and electrician I spoke to says its a plumber or central heating expert I need.

I dont know what to do. Even though the stove cost 2k, I would gladly scrap it just to get central heating working.

I'm not expecting answers to my problem, just who the hell do I get to look at a problem like this....ideally a plumber/electrician/ CH expert/ combo but im drained financially and mentally with this...even though it seems like its a very straight forward system.

TLDR - need my central heating/stove to work in the most basic way that it should!

You need a plumber who understands how to wire heating controls basically

Do you have an oil boiler along with the stove?

How your system should operate will depend on how it is mechanical and electrically installed.

Do you have any images of pumps or wiring?

days after i posted this, the oil burner gave up the ghost! had plumber come out, he fixed oil burner. Heat came on (both zones), but following morning was gone again. A relay was gone upstairs, so replaced that yesterday and heat came back on. will need to go through it properly later.

Plumber said the current plumbing is fairly bad...sad that the way the stove is hooked up is against regulatons so that is worrying, we need to discuss it in person.
So "friends" plumbed and wired the house so badly, that I'm not sure what prblem is next down the line

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully there isn't too much remedial work to be done. Unfortunately there's plenty of have a go heros who think they know how to pipe up systems and solid fuel especially. Looks like you have a plumber now who knows his/her job so.
