    hi folks,

our house is a standard 3 bed with a garage attached to side( and very flimsy door ).

I am looking at insulating the inside garage/hall wall as I think it may be contributing to my cold hall.

    So, q1, do I need a vapor barrier ?
q2 - I was thinking of framing out the wall and using knauff earthwool rather than the rigid stuff - what do folks think ?

    thanks in advance

    rob

Fit insulated plasterboard to the garage side of the wall. Less messing with finishes to the house.
Easy to do with mushroom fixings and a small sds drill.
No need for vapour barrier as the entire wall is now on the warm side of the insulation.

    Thanks.

Yea I bought the rigid stuff and some mushroom fittings. Really simple to fit. But is there a need to put foam in any gaps ?

To be honest I haven't noticed any difference but we still have single glazed windows in the bathroom which I think is part of the problem ( a big part )
