    Hi there.

I'm thinking about setting up a small (tiny!) digital label for a college project and just to learn a little about the ins and outs of running one. No intension at all to make money from it so I'm wondering if I still have to go the PLC route and set up an actual business or if there are other ways?

I thought some of the good folk here might have experience of this.

    Many thanks!

What are you looking to do with the label, what are the objectives?

Setting up a company and registering it etc can be quite a big pain, I wouldn't go that route unless you were going to go on with the project beyond your college years, if it's just for college I wouldn't bother with the Plc route!

Imo you should just check out other small labels and what they're doing. It also depends on the genre of music you wish to serve.

Thanks for the tips guys. It's on ice of the time being as I look for more artists.
