Aer lingus could do with a back load when they fly to Beijing for medical PPE alright.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

1c drop every month to july is what we heard, running out of stores for product

That might not be a bad outcome, SMP/Butter very close to intervention now.

No idea...dont think there's ever a huge volume traded on the GDT, just used as a measure of confidence, and particularly confidence from NZ about demand and access again to China..

Is it down to 30% of fonterras output is all that's traded on it? Gas how that has always been used by our coops when we don't sell a bit on it and they hardly ever mention the ornua ppi

The Irish Farmers Journal understands that Irish co-ops are already preparing the specific packaging needed for placing butter and skimmed milk powder (SMP) into intervention.

Isn't that term "understands" just the saddest, laziest journalistic term you ever came across..

FFS man...let us know who told you this story, and we can make up our own mind as to its validity..

Agriland ,farmers journal and farming Indo are some prophets of doom this past week they are trying to suck us all into milk price collapsing and giving coops ammo to drop price to mid 20s .time now for board members and coops to stand up
.granted we are going into challenging times

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,198 ✭✭✭greenfield21

Ha yeah alot of scaremongering out there, agriland are worse quoting random twitter accounts for articles.

Problem is it also gives Buyers ammo to bargain when the likes of this gets out, could they not just keep their mouth closed!!

Would Lakeland be more exposed to services industry than others? Aer lingus milk butter and the likes?

Don't know much about them but on their website for 2018 - Total revenue €810.5m
    Breakdown
    Food ingredients: €489.9m
    Food services: €246.9m
    Agri trading: 73.7m

Have they released results for 2019 yet? Also lacpatrick is now with them so this data is pretty pointless and they may have actually benefited from the retail sales surge with some of their products so hard to know but it does seem like quite a high percentage of revenue from the food service side, who knows hopefully other coops may be better placed.

It's doesn't surprise me to see a mod talking down milk prices before the announcements tomorrow considering every other media source does the same. Showing your true colours Buford.

Why do you think it's going up or something

Glanbia down 2cent, no surprise to be honest, they'll take any chance to drop it like a stone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,570 ✭✭✭Mooooo

So it begins. If they drop so fast there can be no talk of stuff forward sold when it's time to go back up again the fcukers

    Kerry drop 2c.

    Base of 30.5c

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 31,405 ✭✭✭✭whelan2

    Kerry drop 1c.

    Base of 30.5c

Still one cent per litre above glanbia. How come whenever there's a drop it cant be half a cent ir 1 cent, let's go the whole hog and drop 2. Why should the dairy farmer take the hit we are operating an essential service. Glanbia executives taking no hit as per usual. Without our milk they have nothing

It was obvious when one dropped they were all going to drop. That's the very nature of a CARTEL.
