Hi all. I am looking for any advise here for my sister.
She is 8 months pregnant and has a 2 year old. She has a full time job and due to start maternity benefit soon. Unfortunately she recently found out her partner was having an affair and has had to cancel the mortgage application and wedding.
She is now in a horrible situation. She now wishes to not return to work when the baby is born. She is going to have to apply for housing as she cant afford the rent on her own. I'm sure the father will help out with the kids but at the moment she is so hurt she cant even speak to him. Can anyone please send me in the right direction for her. She has went to crisis pregnancy but not much info there.
Can she apply for help with housing whist on maternity benefit or does she have to be on loan parents?

any help is appreciated. Thank you

She can apply now to see if she's eligible to be put on the housing list and then add the child at a later date after birth and registration

She can apply right now for lone parent and she will get it subject to the children's father giving her maintenance
She can also get maternity benefit at 1/2 rate
Go to her local authority at once and apply to be entered on the housing list and once she's approved she can apply for HAP
