Social welfare inspector meeting this week... what can I expect?

I've been called to a meeting with my local SW inspector this week. Never had one before. Requested to bring last 6 month bank statements, parent's pay slips and mortgage payment. I'm 23 so already only receive 100€ weekly Jobseekers Allowance reduced due to my age. I don't mind going to the meeting. However I think it's a bit soon as I just finished a 9 month jobbridge about 6 weeks ago so thought they'd lay off me for a while. My parents both work reasonably paid jobs, aren't on benefits themselves. My question is does a SW inspector have the right to deduct my payment if she sees fit because of my parents? I'm freaking out about it. Don't think it's fair because I'm already on an age reduced payment! Help!

OP, I've moved your thread to a more appropriate forum.

Ok. Because your 23 your on an age reduced payment
Because you live with your parents who are earning money, and your under 26, your deemed to be "enjoying" the "Benefit and privilege " of a full fridge, heating, hot water etc.
The inspector will look at your parents payslips and do a "means test" and then decide how much you are entitled to on JSA.
As regards "leaving you alone" I definitely wouldn't say that to the Inspector! You are looking for and available for full time work all the time and particularly in the run up to Crimbo there are "Staff needed" signs in lots of retail places.

I hadn't any intention of telling her that (obviously) & am always applying for work!

Yes he can. If he sees that you're parents have enough money to support you partially he may deduct some of your payment, but that may not happen. Just go in and see what happens.

If you have proof of recent job applications, bring them with you to prove you are actively looking for work.
