Opel Astra G rear fog lights

    Hey all,

I've got an Astra G and all of the lights work except the rear fogs.

The light come on in the dash ( this is when the car is running and main lights are turned on ), the relay clicks, the fuse is intact and the bulbs are perfect.

I have also checked the trailer cable under the plastic panel in the boot and that doesn't appear to be corroded and doesn't seem to have ever been touched.

Has anyone any ideas? Have my NCT tomorrow!

    Cheers!

It's a fail for NCT but a free visual inspection.

How did you check the bulbs? Just looked at them, or try with another working bulb?

I switched the bulb with the rear indicator which is working perfectly. That was on the driver's side.

If you remove the switch would you get away with it as they're only tested if fitted?

If you have a voltmeter you can check if there is power

That's for optional front fog lights. Rear fog lights are mandatory and must work. Possible corrosion on the contact points for the bulb.

    Thanks guys,

Yeah I will double check again and see if there is any corrosion on the cluster itself. Other than that I'm out of ideas!

As a matter of interest, should there only be 1 rear fog light? And should it be on the drivers side?

IIRC Astra G only has one rear fog, some have 2, not sure what side its meant to be on, presumably driver's side would make more sense
