She did well and showed heart but was still completely outclassed
really? totally outclassed imo. She's a great fighter but hardly did anything unfortunately.

She broke the champions nose and busted her face up.

That is not "hardly did anything" in my book.

She lost fair and square and for the first 3 rounds it looked a mismatch at times. Sure. But she showed plenty in the later rounds to suggest she can be a threat to Joanna with some adjustments and improvements.

She had Joanna in more trouble than Claudia Gadehla ever did.

I have to say i have never been more enthralled in a fight in my life when woodley had thompson in the guillotine in the 4th round. Edge of my seat stuff and i actually let out a cheer when he escaped.

Agreed. Like lawor Mcdonald When he knocked him down i was nearly off the chair.

Woodley isnt a fighter i like watching. Dunno why but always seems to looks like he needs a breather and spends more time waving his arms around than doing anything

Sick, and to do that to Weidman especially.

Have to wonder where Weidman goes from here. I don't see him getting back to where he was. Might not be the same after that beating from Luke.

So you're agreeing with me. Thanks.

Why did he keep shooting for a takedown. Clearly romero was a better wrestler? Is that just poor fighter iq (like the kick in the rockhold fight)

He seemed to have no lasting damage as he was at presser which is a good sign because the sound of it had me thinking about cyborg after MVP when he broke his skull

Do ye not think you might be a bit quick ruling out Weidman? He's only two or three wins away from another title shot, losing to Romero or Rockhold isn't exactly the end of the world, they're great fighters. Rockhold losing to Bisping and then Jacare (if it wasn't cancelled) would surely have been worse? I doubt we'd be discussing the end of him being a challenger if that happened though..

To be fair, Gadelha clearly beat Joanna the first time they fought and it wasn't even particularly close. One of the worst decisions I've ever seen in the UFC.

Yeah I know losing 2 is nothing but its the way he lost them,he took about the damage of 5 fights against Luke from mount that still haunts me.

what a night. i fell asleep for a couple of fights but my friends woke me for conor thank god. that was such a dominant win it was like the siver fight or something. not a scratch on him. small guys just cannot touch him or take his shots.

as for what's next, i don't think he'll fight for a long time to be honest. i would think tbh he's maybe thinking of retiring. he has the two belts, he's at the very top of the game and has no shortage of opportunities outside MMA now. he has hinted he'll retire early in the past. would be a shame though, khabib would be a great fight.

Joanna clearly won well last night but Rogan was his biased self as usual creaming himself over her.

I've been saying it before Conor was even stated to fight him so your theory is ridiculous it has nothing to do with Conor saying anything,

Everyone ramps on about him but hes no combat experience he he done some boxing in the army and all of a sudden hes a great coach, when it mattered at ufc 200 he takes responsibility for that Edgar plan and they got absolutely schooled,

Kavanagh has actually fought in mma hes a real coach thats gets abuse while Henry gets nothing said about the amount of loses he takes.

Neither has Greg Jackson, I guess that eliminates him from being a legit coach. Henry has built a rep through developing very good fighters. Eddie's game plan last night didn't seem great but I don't see any way he could have beaten Conor the way he performed last night. Sounds like you're putting Henry down to big Kavanagh up.

Have to say I was a little disappointed with Thompson and now feel he may have been overhyped. Thought if he could survive early bombs from Tyron he'd cruise eventually, but he was very tentative. He may have drawn on the scoring system (I actually thought he could've won 48-47), but in reality Woodley beat him up last night. What a tough bastard though, the way he survived R4 and ended up on top was incredible.

Just read an article (I can't post links from my mobile) that Khabib was shouting at Dana during his fight. Saying he wanted a title shot. This was while he was fighting! He also warned Johnson to tap when he got the kimura. He's a scary animal.

Good job Jackson is primarily a grappling coach and has coach wink as a striking one so isnt it,

I'd say Kavanagh and his team who deserve a lot of credit Roddy and Sergey have achieved a lot more as coaches, they've taken complete novices no real martials base other than some boxing and turned him into a dual world champion, where as the a lot of the times the American coaches inherit wrestling champs with years of competition experience.

Miesha Tate is a bit of a moron, no? This is the second time she has claimed retirement and telling Dana to **** off is bizarre.

Still doesn't make Henry a crap coach, I won't bother arguing with you.

While he was on top of Johnson and during the breaks between rounds he was screaming at Dana "Give me that fu*king belt" and Dana just said back "finish your fight first" so after the fight he went straight to Dana and said it again.

Apparently he said to Johnson if you don't tap I will break it. Which is fair enough warning.

No it's not. She said she was considering retirement after he was promised a title fight and then it was handed to Holly. She never retired before.

And I'd say there are lots of fighters who want to tell Dana to go f*ck himself, he's a weasel.

Well look at the results of his fighters, it hardly makes him a great coach at least greg jackson has orchestrated some terrific game plans for his fighters in the big fights when it counts think Holly Holm v Ronda,

Im not saying Henry's coach Edmund but hes no genius hes made out to be (not by himself tbf)

Bit anticlimactic I have to say. I wanted to see a war like the Diaz fights. It was completely one sided, he looked like he was beating up one of the keyboard warriors from boards. Not sure where he goes from here. In other news myself and my father polished off the bulk of the goodies last night. Paying for it today. The back of the bowl has been peddle dashed fairly frequently. Worth every minute of it though! McGregor For Ever!!

It wasn't said in that manner. It was a jovial "**** off you arent my boss anymore, I'm not going to the hospital!" Then she went to the hospital.

    *ahem*..... I PREDICT DEES TINGS!!!

I think teeps will feature too, Alvarez seems to like to rush on in and I think he'll eat a lot of them. Leg kicks will play a part again too. I'm not at all impressed by Eddies boxing either, he clearly has power but its pretty wild. He swings for the fences and just puts his head down and windmills far too much. I think Conor wins it with a slip-lefthook OR... and this is a wildcard, left-of-field prediction... with a guillotine. :)

Alvarez is wild though, he just throws bombs, I don't see much he has other than a solid jaw and some wild power. Conor is too smart to stand and trade to give him that punchers chance...
    DeVore wrote: »
God I thought he was pretty poor against Cerrone... some very wild swings that left him wide open. He better be able to "take that left" because if he cant, this isn't going to last long. That seems to be Eddies thing though, he's 100% aggression and trusts to his chin to take anything that that leaves him open to (and he seems to be right on that score!). I think Conor is going to teep him until he wants to engage and pick him apart and disengage again. Eddies going to be swinging at where Conor was, all night.
