    Hello folks,

It might be the wrong section to put the topic, but anyway I just have a quick question. I passed my driving test in Croatia this year in March, and I own full EU license, which I changed to full irish license few weeks ago. Now my question is do I still need to put N on my windshield, or that is just if you passed test in Ireland?

Assuming you hold an Irish License now, if it is under 2 years old (not renewed) well then yes you must have N plates up.

The same rules apply as if your original EU licence were issued here.

If it's more than 2 years old, you do not need N plates as you are an experienced driver.

You're not in any way disadvantaged by having a licenced issued originally in another EU country and it does not start the clock again on the N plates.

"Q2. If my driving licence was issued by another EU or exchange state prior to 1 August 2014, and subsequent to this date I exchange the licence for an Irish licence, will I have to display N-plates?
Ans: No, you are not required to display N-plates when issued with an Irish driving licence."

Q3. If my driving licence was issued by an EU or exchange state after 1 August 2014, and subsequent to this date I exchange the licence for a Irish driving licence, will I have to display N-plates?
Ans: Yes, if the EU or exchange licence is less than two years old and then only until the two year period is up"

So if you got a Croatian licence in March 2016 you need to have N plates until March 2018.
