That was some covering back by Zebo (who I think was at fault for the gap?)

I always reckon they should just give those tries if you can't see them with the naked eye or after one or two replays.

I guess I'd have been annoyed with this camera angle, because presumably it was REALLY obvious from the touchline angle.

Must be awful to see your effort denied in this day and age of international rugby. Would have been ruled out in seconds in any other stadium.

    I was there. :)

Incredible week with the Cubs' World Series victory and a wonderful finish with the rugby.

My most vivid memory from Soldier Field was how ****ing hot it was in November.

22c IIRC. It was warm all week but that took the biscuit.

I didnt attend but watched the game at my best mates child's christening through a dodgy mobdro stream and drank the night away after Hendsaws try. I was still in shock days after. What a night what a win reeling in the years stuff

Was going to ask this on the world cup 2023 bid thread but does anyone remember what the financial situation for this test match was. I seem to remember we were doing it pretty much cost in order to buy off New Zealand Rugby (who got the majority of the money) and USA rugby (who got a healthy licensing fee and a lot of exposure) votes for the 2023 rugby world cup.

Yeah. Although I think the USA thing was also related to the game last summer, as was said at the time.

Kind've the rugby equivalent of buying an iPhone on ebay and recieving a hookah shell necklace in the post. We should leave a bad review for kiwis_tew

  • Well thats the next two hours sorted

Probably a little of both. If I recall correctly USA rugby got 500-750k in license fees for the match.

Fair point. All Im saying is that we played the game in Chicago to buy world cup votes. It would be sad these don't come through. Still a great historic win.

One of my most abiding memories of the day was how, onboard a courtesy bus that Guinness had laid on, a voice at the back led us into "There Is An Isle.", that fine fine anthem.

    It was still worth it!

My reaction at the Henshaw try was so loud that the neighbours wife had to call the husband who was out at the time to ask whether she should call the police. She was convinced there was something bad going down. Thankfully he knew what was happening and convinced her all was okay! :D

What you don't know is that molloyjh lives in a rural area and his 'next door' neighbour is half a mile away. :D

I was there with my Scottish missus. We walked back into town and the queues outside the Irish bars were just silly so when she suggested we try the Scottish bar across the street with no queue I reluctantly agreed, The tilted wig 😀
