Were seen immediately upon arrival? If not then you must have noticed other people being called out, would you not have taken the opportunity to have a quiet word with whoever was on duty at that time?

Didn't have the chance as was seen immediately.

Tbh you can sometimes have 30 or more people in the waiting room and just calling out initials that can easily be shared by a number of people there or misheard can cause confusion. (eg JM John Murphy, Joe McMahon, Jim Molloy, Jason McCarthy etc).

I really think anyone who attends there is not in the business of gossiping and are more concerned about their own potential STI risks. If some other patient there knows or recognises you, they're going to know you regardless of whether your initials or name called out. Should everyone wear disguise masks just in case?

I can see the thread didn't go the way you expected. The only thing I'll add would be not to neglect or put off future STI screenings due to this perceived negative experience, your sexual health is extremely important and if you do not agree with how the staff member conducted himself on the day it is best to either have a word in advance of your appointment or get checked at another clinic.

Here is a list of free STI screening locations

Hmmm... if anonymity is an issue, maybe they should implement a system where they call you by your unique Grindr account username. Problem sorted.
