Alcohol content

Sitting here smoking a joint and drinking a can and a random thought popped in to my head - why don't alcoholic drinks have a label outlining the alcohol content? I'm not talking about 4.0%\5.0% but an actual label that says "this drink will give you a blood alcohol level of x/x - your national limit is x/x". Would it make sense? It makes sense to me at the moment but I'm ****ing baked beyond belief to be honest

Different limits in different countries too, so they would need different cans for each market.

He's smoking and drinking on a Thursday night while I'm up to my neck in grease and dirt.

I'd say he's living the life.

Your blood alcohol level will depend on several things in addition to the amount of alcohol you drank, like your weight, your ability to metabolise alcohol and I'm sure there's others.

The cost factor would be too much

How much you've eaten, or not, beforehand. Eating with alcohol slows the rate of absorption.

Man TS, that brings back memories, as I spent much of my thirties(late bloomer) thinking similar. :D

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Stop over analyzing what's in your drink and just knock it back, ya big alco head ya!

It's my 9th can and I'm still just 0.05 BAC?

Slightly off topic...Blood alcohol level does not equate to inebriation.

That's why the whole drink driving system is completely flawed.

This is the kind of stuff that needs a slot on primetime.

Absolutely, though it must have David McCullagh smoking a fat spliff to lend it gravity.

As far as I know, they're meant to be bringing in legislation to change what has to be labelled on drinks now.
As well as displaying warnings and calories, part of the new label is supposed to contain a section that shows the amount of pure alcohol in the drink in grams.
It doesn't get more straightforward than that.
