    Hi All,

I work in an FE college and arrange work experience for healthcare FE students. For the last few years Garda Vetting was one of the prerequisites for work experience and we apply for this for the students through the ETB (formerly VEC).

In the last week one of the facilities that traditionally accepted 'Garda Vetting' is now indicating they can now only accept 'Garda Clearance'. I thought clearance and vetting were one and the same and can't find information on the internet to the contrary.

Can someone tell me is there a difference between 'Garda Vetting' and 'Garda Clearance'? (and if so whats that difference is and how do students obtain it.)

For context these students have already applied for Garda vetting and would be between 18 - 20 years of age and wouldn't have worked outside Ireland.

    Many thanks
