Hi Folks , just discovered that my trusty basic 08 Ford mondeo 1.8 litre diesel (260000 km)requires new clutch and flywheel as well as fuel injectors, meanwhile a garage has offered me a deal to upgrade to a 141 Ford Mondeo titanium high spec 2.0litre diesel with v little mileage <40000 for €15 k. Deal or no deal ?

    I would say a deal.

The clutch and flywheel alone will take a grand. Injectors another one if not two...

2.0 TDCi engine is way superior to the older 1.8 TDCI. 2.0 litre has more power, is more refined and doesn't have that stupid wet timing belt setup that the 1.8 litre has.

Do a history check using motorcheck and if that's clear, then do a deal

You're spending 15k, spend the extra 20 quid for peace of mind.

One final question folks, would the fact that it's older style model (2007-2014)to the newer model launched at the end of 2014 greatly affect resale values in 3-4 years?
    Thanks in advance folks
