Peanut butter and jelly

Or peanut butter and jam as its known here.

Has anyone ever tried this in a sandwich.

I've been kinda seeing a guy in America. Kinda seeing, well there's not much seeing him as he lives over there and I live here, so it's not easy.

But i do stay up most nights and we have so much fun talking.

He wants me to try this American thing called peanut butter and jelly. But I'm not quite sure, it's peanut butter and jam. Can somebody explain how this has a nice taste cause it doesn't sound like it.

So should i try it or does taste of poison.

Just try it. It's fúcking rotten.

Point of order, chief - jelly isn't quite American for jam. American-style jelly is made from fruit juices only, so has no knobbly bits or seeds like jam. And yes, it's quite tasty.

It's not bad. Strawberry jam is nicest IMO.

Though I stuck a slice of cheese in too, so don't listen to me.

EDIT: The jelly is a grape jam, which I've never seen here.

    It's gawjus.

On one side of the bread either crunchy or smooth peanut butter (I prefer the smooth myself), and the other half whatever your favourite jam is. Mine is rhubarb and ginger. It just works! But I think a lot of peanut butter is kind of sweet anyway.

In fact I am going to make myself just such a sandwich in a minute! Lovely with tea aswell.

Peanut butter and jelly is about as kinky as i go.

I don't think I'd like peanut butter and jam tbh. Not a huge fan of jam. Peanut butter and banana is lovely though. I tried peanut butter and raw carrots and it really is nice.

Anyway just try it out op. It's not like it's hard to make. :)

Love it. Strawberry jam and crunchy peanut butter on a bagel

I love peanut butter and jam.
You need peanut butter AND jam on each slice though. None of this peanut butter only slice and jam only slice

But you put them together, and, voilà!

Must be made on white bread, and must have a glass of milk or cup of tea on the side.

Best jelly is grape (which is sadly impossible to get in Ireland), but a good runner up is Strawberry.

It's delicious. Since moving to the US I've had it quite a bit. I like crunchy peanut butter (100% peanuts) and raspberry jam.
Also a fantastic variant, almond butter and honey. Amazing!

Jelly =\= jam. Grape =\= strawberry.

I had peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwiches for the entirety of primary school, thanks to an American parent in an arcane land. It's vile.

    With grape jelly it's great.

Smooth peanut butter and grape jelly, I would just like to thank the O'Sullivan twins, Pat and Michael who brought this from Queens with them and changed my 13yo life for the better.
    Tis delish!

Not sure about the cream crackers, but meridian peanut butter is amazing, miles better than the cheap sugary stuff.

Peanut butter plus one of the following all work (IMO):
    Honey
    Banana
    Jam
    Nutella

Used to yuk when I first heard of this as I'm mad for peanut butter. But tried it once and have to say it kind of works. Hardly do it tho.

If you like sweet and nuts like topic or snickers bars then you'll like the combination.
I love it on cream crackers. Strawberry jam and crunchy peanut butter.
Or crunchy peanut butter and onion chutney from lidl .. which also goes with cheese (extra mature). Sausage sandwiches with chutney too. Or peanut butter and nutella.
Surprisingly e also are fresh strawberries dipped in sweet chilli sauce.
Lots of different flavour combinations if you're willing to try them. As I tell my kids, you can always spit it out ! :)

I've been living here 26 years, and I still don't understand why they don't sell grape jelly over here. You can get it in american import shops, which I do on occasion. I might make an order soon actually...

I need to get my hands on it. The closest you can get here is Seedless Raspberry Jam.

What else can you use the jelly for? I want to try it but I don't want to order some and let it go to last waste.

I love Marmite and I love cheese.

Tried them together in a sandwich once and it was disgusting.

I like peanut butter and I like jam, but I'm afraid it'd be the Marmite and cheese experience all over again.

Marmite and chips sandwiches, however, are made in Heaven :)

OP - 'peanut butter and jelly' is a clear euphemism for something very very kinky and filthy.

Tell this yank you're not ready for such yet and need to slow down a bit before reaching for the 'peanut butter and jelly'.

    The durty yank...

Just polished off two of these bad boys for lunch. Absolutely delicious. Strawberry jam if the bread is white, blackcurrant if brown.

Peanut butter and honey is also great, especially on toast.

Bought peanut butter to try with nutella today due to this thread. Very disappointed as the nutella completely overrides the other because of its sweetness.
