I seem to getting more than my fair share of problems with these valves recently is it just me

and before ye start I know about rafv :p:p

you would be lucky around my neck of the woods if you got an isolating valve on the oil tank ;) that agusta gets around ;)

I was just teasing about using the firevalve as an on/off valve.Do you mean collapsing closed or leaking

I always use them as an on/off valve during servicing. It is a great way of checking them. I often come across ones that are still letting by after turning the wheelhead. The spindle still stays up. Meaning that even if the filament melts the spindle doesn't drop down closing the valve. Sometimes the whole spindle turns with the wheel head.

Collapsing? Do you mean the filament separating from the head itself?

Is this a little joke just for the LK (or is it just L now) lads? One of the "you would have had to be there" type jokes.

No Wearb, its not a joke.Jim had mentioned it to me the other day about having trouble with firevalves but i completely forgot.
I dont use them to turn off the oil in case they leak afterwards, but its a nuisance going to the oil tank 2 or 3 times during a service

no joke wear we seem to have a bad batch around at the moment spreading from limk/cork/clare

on close inspection i see brass shavings in the valve so badly machined imho

Cheap as chips to replace and does highlight a siezed one. What's the problem with the bad batch?
