Salmon Oil for dogs

Any idea how I should store salmon oil? I ordered a bottle of salmon oil from zooplus with other bits. It's nutrivet salmon oil. The bottle doesn't have information about storage. I would assume it's stored in the fridge. My mam says in the press.

I started the dog on a joint supplement a few weeks ago. It's a liquid supplement with a pump top. I was storing it in the press. When I first started the dog on the supplement, around about 3 weeks ago, she loved it. Not so much now. She will take it from a syringe for giving medicine but not with her nuts any more.

Gave the dog her first dose of salmon oil earlier with her nuts and she loved it. She went back to lick her empty bowl a few times.

When I was using salmon oil(it was a different brand) I had to store it in a cool, dry place according to the bottle.

I just left mine in the open in the kitchen. My doggie loves it. You will also notice an improvement in the coat while using it.

I meant to add earlier there's a tablet called yumove available from Lintbells. It helps with mobility issues/arthritis. It might be an alternative to the liquid form. Haven't used it myself but have heard of others using it with success.

Once opened you need to store fish oils in the fridge. It extends the life span but it's still only good for about 3 weeks. After that it turns rancid and has no nutritional value.

You're joking me. I bought a litre of the stuff hoping to get more than 3 weeks out of it. I was hoping on giving some to the cat too but he turned his nose up at it earlier. There's no way we are going to use this stuff in 3 weeks. Next time I'll order 2 small bottles.

We keep it out on the counter no problems and only go through one of those litre bottles every 6-8 weeks

We have a container here that I haven't gotten around to throwing away yet and it says it's good for 6 months after opening. I stopped using it because Bailey (missing the chunk of jaw) was getting too frustrated not being able to clear his bowl from it making the food too sticky/slippy! :o

salmon oil should be stored away from daylight , i transfer mine into brown medicine bottles and keeep in a dark press and it lasts months , the test if its gone off is if it has a strong fishy smell and or crystallises when frozen

I store my salmon oil in the fridge (it comes in a dark coloured bottle), lasts me months - never had one go off.
