I'm just sick of it at this stage, I will never log into another online news feed or Media page.... Totally extracting the Michael with your pop-ups and cookies,, just go away

Chromebook. I bought Chromebook last Xmas and it has inbuilt security, no pop-ups, no constant updating, it's fast, it starts up in a couple of seconds, it has an incredible screen, a full sized keyboard, it can go off-the-lead for several hours, you don't pay to support Windows' effective monopoly. I love it.

    Yeah they are really annoying.
But yes Op to answer your question it's all about making more money. See there was kind of a "standard" of such with advertising online years ago. A page would just have banner ads (be it at the top, side, bottom or even all) of a webpage.
Then came along the javascript pop up ad to open in a new Tab or Window. Bad enough right? But then the trend became that why should one pop up only happen? Let's make as many pop up's as we can! All reacting to when ever you try to click a link or scroll if you're on mobile.
