Hi I have a Firebird Super Q boiler for past 15 years and never had a problem. As you can see its time to change the burner. My local plumbing suppliers has the correct one to replace it, it comes with factory settings but I am wondering will I have to get a plumber to set the carbon monoxide settings or will they be ok.

    Thanking You

    What's wrong with old one?

Yes they have to be properly setup.
Some suppliers recon if they physically fit the boiler, it will be ok. You need to be sure burner output and burner head is correct.

Get a good boiler man to do it. That may or may not be a plumber.

Hi thanks for help, I was informed that any boiler over 10 years old isn't efficient but my local plumber suppliers told me this was rubbish. I have problem with two rads not heating in attic and thought this was the problem, but again man in plumbing shop said it could be oil/air mixture, so I am getting plumber to call

Some Rads not heating is rarely caused by boiler problems, more likely air or sludge or poor plumbing if something new done.

Boilers not burners (generally speaking) vary in efficiency.

Turn off 3 or 4 hot rads and see if the cold ones heat up.

Condensing V Super Q is 30% savings on fuel in my experience.
A "no" brainer in my opinion.
