Ok so YOUNG at heart 43 yr old female , don't really drink that often. Love the outdoors , all my friends are drinkers and let's just say don't have the same interests as me. Have an anxiety disorder (gad) so struggling a bit lately with getting out alone and I hate depending on people. Just completely fed up with doing nothing or doing the same thing day after day , just looking for some ideas I guess really on any clubs that are out there...I'll try anything ....once I get out my front door that is lol I dunno why but I've been dying for a game of tennis or to go rollerblading or anything just to have a laugh and that doesn't involve drink!

meetup.com - there's plenty of outdoorsy groups & every interest you could think of.
Join a group like 'The sober south'

Have you tried orienteering that might be a bit of fun. Did go myself but kinda the same as you for a while but found myself at a loss as I was not competitive for most sports, left then haha but someone was saying this gang were good. That or the cork rounders team

I saw this mentioned in a thread last week but I think this might tick the outdoors box for you:

    https://www.civildefence.ie/units/cork-city-council/

You can become a volunteer and get training and meet like minded people.

@rebel.ranter Great suggestion and something I'd love to do but my gad would hold me back till I get it sorted. Baby steps for now, just pushing myself to get out there and meet new people do new things. I wouldn't be the most confident person so like i said baby steps for now 😀but I'm Deffo going to keep that in mind thank you x

I must say the rounders team were very nice.. I know like Naomhog was mentioned, just be prepared they are either friendly or not friendly, if you get the cold shoulder from them it isnt you, thats all im saying like... Geocache is another thing, if you dont exactly want to met people on certain days etc.. It is like a treasure hunt (a small one) that leads you to a spot eithe by nice walks, or scenic sports, all that kinda stuff quite fun

If you get the cold shoulder from the folk in Naomhoga Chorcai, it probably is you.

They are a very open, inclusive, friendly bunch.
