Had a look at tv schedule for tonight, must be the worst Halloween night ever in terms of anything Halloween related being on, so far all I can see is...

    3E
    20.05-22.05 The Addams Family
    22.05-23.05 Irish Ghost Hunters

I suppose to be fair RTÉ do have Enda: Last Man Standing which could be considered a horror show of sorts.

Followed by The Choice 2016 - Clinton v. Trump - another horror show of sorts.

Ok selection on Sky and C4. RTE is crap.

C4? Supershoppers. SAS: Who Dares Wins. First Dates! Load of rubbish.

I can't believe I still pay for this. I've downloaded all the stuff I want to watch this Halloween. It's the only way. TV is getting worse and worse for showing festive/seasonal movies.

    My bad, Film4.

Presumably like Christmas, the premium channels like Sky Movies have purchased en mass all the seasonal films imaginable. Also, it's not a bank holiday in the UK, so not really much incentive in putting on a specialised schedule for amy other Monday

Back in the day RTE/Network 2 used to go all out for Halloween. I remember at least one year they had Podge and Rodge hosting the night and introducing films while showing bits of a scare at bedtime.

It really is a shame as people like a scary film at halloween. It doesnt have to be a recent or big budget one. I am watching a cheap Australian one right now called Infini.

Halloween on the main channels has been awful for years.

I genuinely thought whoever wrote up the TV guide I looked at earlier had made a mistake and copied and pasted from a normal Monday night.
Went for a curry instead, more entertainment and better scare potential than any night of RTE.

Netflix had a Halloween section. Sorted.

Netflix doesn't cut it all the time, I've bailed on Netflix as my 'go to', I prefer watching TV because it feels like I'm more 'tuned in' as a consequence, with Netflix you never branch out because you have too much control and does less likely to experiment, since I start watching TV again I've start to watch a broader variety of show and I find myself much more across current affairs than before.

I can't articulate it but there is just something better about TV stations showing and recognizing Halloween.

    Totally get that.

I know I could watch A Nightmare on Elm Street anytime I wanted, but I probably won't. If it's on TV though some night though I most likely would.

Maybe it has to do with growing up in a time whereby you felt lucky to catch a good movie on TV, like Die Hard on a Wednesday night on RTÉ.

I don't care what's on/not on as long as Hocus Pocus is on.

95% of what's on TV nowadays is complete and utter tripe. Its the reason I hardly ever watch TV anymore. I lived for 2 years without one and didn't give a crap. Better things to be doing.

Ah like in fairness, you can't Not watch Die Hard when it's on the telly.

I'm guilty of watching it when it's on even when I have it recorded on UPC. :o

Film4 was renamed Film Fear for Halloween this year. They might do it again for Halloween next year if it is successful for them.

There was more Christmas films on Monday than horror films.

Years ago you had Horrors on all stations at all times. Gone to ****e
