Kia Ceed fuel strap failure

Hi , Just noticed a rattle underneath 08 Kia Ceed, upon inspection one of the fuel straps holding the fuel tank was hanging down, (corroded ). A google search revealed a recall in the U.K in 2011/2012 for this issue. It appears there are 3 of these straps holding the tank in place. I have been told of fuel tanks falling off on the road. I realise the car is out of warranty, but what's the chances of local Kia dealer sorting this F.O.C. ? ( Would imagine all straps would need to be replaced)

Anyone any experience of this issue?

    Hi,
I know it's a while since this was posted but I just had exactly the same experience on my 08 ceed. Just wondering if you got any resolution from Kia or did you just go ahead and get it sorted yourself.

I brought the car to my local Kia Dealer, the service manager said that they did replace them periodically for during normal service. I had not used the dealer for service, used an Indy.

Anyhow, as I had purchased a few Kia's from them over the years, he replaced the straps free of charge as a goodwill gesture 😀

I replaced them on my wife's 08 Ceed a few years ago. One was rotten and snapped and the other wasn't far behind it. Bought new straps from Kia and fitted them myself within 10 minutes.

From any Kia dealer. They will usually have them in stock as they are a well known fail item. I cant remember what they cost but they weren't expensive.
